Cruiser tips and tricks. How to extend your cruise vacation

When friends who are new to cruising ask me for tips, I always suggest they fly to their embarkation port at least one day before their ship is set to sail. The further the distance the port is from home, the more pre-cruise days I would advise them to add to their trip.
