A man partially severed his thumb in an accident onboard a cruise ship that had just left Galveston late Sunday, the Coast Guard said. The Captain of the Emerald Princess contacted the U.S. Coast Guard in Houston-Galveston around 8:30 p.m. to report that a 53-year-old passenger had smashed his thumb in a cabin door.
