Carnival Corp to open US$85-m port in Dominican Republic

THE Carnival Corporation cruise shipping line is expanding its presence in the Caribbean with the construction of a US$85-million cruise ship port in the Dominican Republic, according to a Carnival news release. The port is being built in Amber Cove - a filming site for the original Jurassic Park movie - located on the country's north coast near the city of Puerto Plata.
