It was with great sorrow that we learned today, Dec. 2, about the death of Stanley B. McDonald, the man who not only founded Princess Cruises 50-years ago but put the entire cruise industry on the map after agreeing to allow filming of the TV's "Love Boat' on his ships, has died at the age of 94. McDonald was household name among cruise industry insiders and credited with many achievements such as helping to bring the 1962 World Fair to Seattle and chartering a ship to sail from San Francisco to Victoria BC for the event.
