Cruise news: Norwegian's A 1.8bn purchase of two luxury brands...

Addition of Regent Seven Seas and Oceania to family-friendly range makes for a much more complete operation - with better chance of a UK-based ship Norwegian Cruise Line may have paid A 1.8billion to buy Regent Seven Seas and Oceania, but if chief executive Kevin Sheehan gets his way - and he usually does - none of his passengers need even realise. The deal - biggest in the cruise industry since Carnival Corporation acquired P&O and Princess in 2003 - expands Norwegian's scope by adding two luxury brands to its mainstream, family-friendly offering.
