In search of Pacific war relics

I'm supposed to be on holidays, not writing about our cruise, but here I am, on a 20-night cruise on Dawn Princess to the Pacific War battlefields north of Australia. The itinerary is new for Princess Cruises and includes Brisbane, Alotau in Papua New Guinea, Doini Island, Kitava Island , Rabaul on the island of New Britain, Honiara in the Solomons, Luganville, Champagne Bay and Port Vila in Vanuatu and finally Noumea in New Caledonia before returning to Sydney.
